Common questions

What is pip value and how is it calculated?
Pip value is the monetary worth of a single pip movement in your account currency. For most USD-quoted pairs (like EURUSD), 1 standard lot (100,000 units) has a pip value of $10. For cross pairs, the pip value depends on the exchange rate. Our calculator automatically computes this using live MT5 prices.
How is required margin calculated?
Required margin is calculated as: (Contract Size x Lot Size x Market Price) / Leverage. For example, 1 lot of EURUSD at 1.0850 with 1:100 leverage requires $1,085 margin. Higher leverage means lower margin requirements but also higher risk.
What are swap fees in forex trading?
Swap fees (also called rollover fees) are charged when you hold a position overnight past the daily rollover time. They can be positive or negative depending on the interest rate differential between the two currencies. Triple swap is typically charged on Wednesday to account for the weekend.
How often are the calculator prices updated?
The calculator prices are sourced from Vanto's live MT5 trading server and updated every 5 minutes during market hours. The timestamp shown in the calculator indicates when the prices were last refreshed. Prices are indicative and may differ slightly from real-time trading prices.
